Tarka Cottage in the friendly village of Sticklepath on the edge of Dartmoor ~ excellent walks and cycleways from the village, with easy access to national parks and other places of interest.
As the name suggests, Tarka Cottage is located at the southern end of the Tarka Trail, within the Dartmoor National Park in the small village of Sticklepath. This charming character cottage, which dates from the 1660’s, is built from local granite with exposed beams, granite floors and granite inglenook fireplaces.

Tarka Cottage is available year round and has very spacious accommodation for up to six guests, although we offer special rates for smaller groups during off-peak times. Children and pets are welcome.
Sticklepath Village is ideally located for a wide range of activities and places of interest. It’s only a 20 minute walk onto the Moor where you can enjoy peace and quiet, spectacular landscapes, diverse wildlife and ancient monuments. It is also centrally placed for exploring the West Country with both Exeter and Plymouth within an hour’s drive.
